Days 18 - 24 Pittsburgh to Cincinatti *Family/ Tornados/Tstorms* (233 mi)

Day 18!: Pitt, PA to Steubenville, OH (51 miles)
3 states 1 day.
To start the day in Pittsburgh we biked alongside the Monongahela river. The path took us right next to Pittsuburgh Steelers training facilities & practice field. We saw a few of the players including Antonio Brown leaving practice (surprised he showed up for practice! Lol)

Finishing the evening biking through the hills of West Virginia, which led us to a sweet bridge that took us into Ohio where we spent the night.

Day 19: Steubenville, OH to New Philadelphia, PA (59 miles)

Wow. Who knew Ohio could be so hilly. Long & hot day! Lots of incline.

Day 20: New Philadelphia, OH to Newark,  OH (68 miles)

One of my favorite and most scenic rides of this trip. I never would have expected Ohio to be so scenic, but seems like we hit the sweet spot of the state. Beautiful 80+ degree day, gorgeous farms all around, riding on nothing but country roads.

Day 21-24: Avoiding the surrounding thunderstorms, just missing the tornados in PA/WV/OH (Newark,OH to Cincinnati,OH 52 miles)

We biked through Ohio State University and got to see my cousin while she had a break between classes.

Days 22, 23, 24 enjoyed good company with my family from Cincinatti, Sinchek fam!!!

These 3 days were much needed in letting our bodies rest & recover (or as my Uncle Joe would say... getting rehabilitated and nourished like injured turtles that were rescued from the ocean, only waiting to regain their strength so can be set free in the wild again. LOL)

Was cool being able to visit and learn more in depth history and stories about slave/free states at the Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Caught up with the relatives & with Mr. Weather Channel! Waited out three day long scheduled thunderstorms in all of Ohio, and watched West Virginia & Pittsburgh get hit with flooding, and 15 Tornados... right where we biked through two days prior! How about that for luck ☘
