RAIN+MUD Days 12-17 Gettysburg- Pittsburgh (274 miles)

Entering West Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains... *Cue John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads"*

Quick summary: 5 straight days & 216 miles in straight rain on a dirt/muddy trail :-/

•it's very tough keeping your belongings dry when you're camping and biking
in the rain 5 days straight lol

•Biking alongside a beautiful trail on the border of Maryland/West Virginia, following the Potomac river. Seeing over 100 waterfalls fall just feet from the trailside

•A tree, yes a big ol' tree from the Ohiopyle state forest randomly snapped off and fell less than 20 feet next to us on the trail... pretty scary, but NOTHING PHASES US!!

•My bike rack broke off then got my first ever flat tire, in a 2 minute span. Moms brakes blew out then got her second flat of the trip, in a 5 minute span, 9 miles before our destination in Pittsburgh :-/

•After sets of a few rough events, on day 17  we made it to Pittsburgh safe & sound!

•Amazing night staying in Bill Campbell's hometown, Homestead, just outside of Pittsburgh. Bill Campbell was one of my biggest role models and mentors I had growing up. Such an amazing man who left lasting positive impacts on communities and individuals every place he stepped foot. If you're not familiar with who Bill Campbell was, here are some articles describing how awesome and influential he was
